The Technology Transfer and Translation Unit of the HMRIB is launching the MAR Tech Transfer Academy, a program designed to provide research and clinical staff with practical case studies delivered by professionals from the innovation ecosystem who have firsthand experience in technology transfer. The goal is to equip participants with the tools needed to turn research discoveries into tangible solutions for society, helping to bring research from the laboratory to the market.
Through interactive sessions with industry experts and research-based entrepreneurs, we will explore key aspects of technology transfer, intellectual property, clinical development, and commercialization strategies, as well as the challenges encountered and how they were addressed.
The first session will take place on January 28 at 4:00 pm and is entitled "How to fundraise and pivot in life sciences? SpliceBio, a case of success", delivered by Miquel Vila-Perelló, CEO of SpliceBio. The session will be moderated by Ismael Ávila, Head of the Technology Transfer and Translation Unit at HMRIB, and Pablo Villoslada, Director of the Neurosciences Program also at HMRIB. The session will present the success story of SpliceBio, a benchmark example of fundraising in the life sciences ecosystem and of adaptability to change.
This session is essential for those who wish to master the preparation of project proposals from a technology transfer perspective, with a focus on project valorization and their translation to patients.
Those wishing to attend must register using this link.
This program will be free of charge for staff from HMRIB, Hospital del Mar, PRBB centers, collaborating centers, and affiliated centers of the Hospital del Mar node within the ITEMAS network. For external attendees, the cost will be €200 per session.
