Unraveling antibody-mediated immunity in health and disease.

Our research group investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern B cell differentiation and antibody production: core processes in immune defense, immune tolerance, and tissue homeostasis. We focus on both systemic and mucosal compartments to uncover how the immune system protects the host from pathogens while maintaining symbiosis with the microbiota.

To achieve this, we combine in vivo models with state-of-the-art high-throughput techniques, such as:

  • High-dimensional and bacterial flow cytometry.
  • Antibody repertoire sequencing and RNA-seq.
  • 16S rDNA and PhIP-seq microbiome profiling.
  • Spatial transcriptomics.
  • Human recombinant monoclonal antibody cloning and expression.

Together, these approaches allow us to dissect the complexity of B cell responses in unprecedented detail.

Our Vision: Translating Immunology into Therapeutic Innovation

By revealing the fundamental mechanisms of B cell biology, our long-term objective is to inform the development of better vaccines, immunotherapies, and strategies to treat or prevent:

  • Infectious diseases
  • Autoimmune and inflammatory disorders
  • Mucosal barrier dysfunction and dysbiosis

Our translational efforts aim to move discoveries from bench to bedside by combining scientific rigor with clinical relevance.
