Dr. Joaquim Gea to Coordinate Two Special Issues of Cells and International Journal of Molecular Science

The Emeritus Head of the Pulmonology Department will be responsible for selecting the studies to be published in them.

Dr. Joaquim Gea, Emeritus Head of the Pulmonology Department and researcher at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, has been appointed as the coordinator of two special issues of the journals Cells and International Journal of Molecular Science. His role will involve selecting both the topics and the authors of the articles to be featured in these issues.

Dr. Gea has been chosen for his expertise in the fields covered by these two journals. The Cells issue, scheduled for publication in October, will focus on muscle damage, repair, and remodeling in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Meanwhile, the International Journal of Molecular Science issue, set to be released next July, will address metabolomics in respiratory, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders.
