Award for Best Communication at the Stroke Genetics Workshop

The award was given to a study presented by Dr. Joan Jiménez Balado from the Neurovascular Research Group at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute.

The study titled "DNA-Methylation and Stroke Prognosis: an Epigenome-wide Association Study," presented by Dr. Joan Jiménez Balado, received the award for Best Communication at the 29th edition of the Stroke Genetics Workshop organized by the International Stroke Genetics Consortium in Boston, United States, from October 12 to 14.

The research, conducted by the Neurovascular Research Group at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute, explores the relationship between epigenetics and stroke prognosis, highlighting the role of specific genomic loci and their association with different levels of methylation, influencing varying degrees of recovery.
