Judit Cubedo is the Managing Director of the Hospital del Mar Research Institute. She holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Barcelona and has a strong executive background, including an Executive MBA from La Salle University, as well as advanced training in innovation, leadership, and strategy.

With a professional career that combines biomedical research, strategic leadership, executive management, and innovation, she has developed a cross-cutting vision of the health research and innovation ecosystem, integrating scientific rigor with a focus on clinical, social, and economic impact.

After an initial stage as a predoctoral and postdoctoral researcher at the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and at the Research Institute of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, she redirected her career toward management and innovation, founding and leading for more than five years a biotechnology company in the diagnostics field. In this role, she led corporate strategy, governance, fundraising, technology transfer, and clinical development.

She has subsequently held executive positions in health and biotechnology companies as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, serving on executive committees and leading strategies in innovation, sustainability, public-private collaboration, and the acquisition of national and European competitive funding.

Throughout her career, she has actively participated in governance bodies, strategic planning processes, and accountability frameworks, as well as in building partnerships with hospitals, research centers, companies, and public administrations at both national and international levels. Her work has been recognized with prestigious national and international awards in innovation, scientific entrepreneurship, and research, including distinctions from the European Commission and MIT Technology Review.
