Two of the grants are awarded by SEOM itself and the third by the Spanish Lung Cancer Group.
Two research projects from the Hospital del Mar and the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute have received three grants of support during the congress of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology, held in Madrid from October 18 to 21. The two projects will analyze different aspects related to immunological markers in different subtypes of lung cancer and in patients with different behaviors in response to immunotherapy.

The study 'Characterization of the immune phenotype in tumor microenvironment and periphery of lung adenocarcinoma with KRAS mutation', led by Dr. Edurne Arriola, has received two grants, the SEOM-Janssen grant for research projects in lung cancer, and the GECP-Janssen grant for basic and translational research. On the other hand, a study led by Dr. Pedro Rocha, 'Deciphering peripheral and intratumor immune biologic events in exceptional responders to immune checkpoint blockade', has received the SEOM grant for a translational research project in immuno-oncology.
