Description:
The selected person will join the Integrative biomedical informatics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).
Task:
We are seeking a bioinformatician to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to managing and analysing biomedical data in personalised medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to developing solutions for the integration, standardisation, interoperability, and analysis of clinical and genomic data. Main responsibilities: Integrating, transforming, and harmonising biomedical data from multiple sources. Developing and maintaining pipelines for the analysis of clinical and omics data. Contributing to data lifecycle management and the implementation of interoperability and standardisation procedures. Preparing technical documentation, presentations, and scientific outputs. Coordinating with the teams involved and applying quality, traceability, and reproducibility criteria.
Formation:
Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
Experience:
Research experience in hospital settings and/or biomedical research centres; use of generative AI applied to natural language processing (NLP); participation in personalised medicine projects; large-scale processing and analysis of health data, including biomedical data; and use of clinical standards.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of generative AI and machine learning (ML) will be particularly valued. Advanced programming skills in Python and R, as well as experience working with Linux operating systems. Advanced knowledge of applied statistics and clinical data processing. Knowledge of the OMOP CDM (Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model) will be valued. High proficiency in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Ability to work with large volumes of data. Ability to document procedures and produce reproducible analyses. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. A proactive and organised individual with strong communication skills.
