The selected person will join the Evolutionary genomics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).
- Task:
-
Support in the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence models to predict the translation of non-canonical open reading frames (ncORFs) located in cellular transcripts.
Evaluation of model performance using different metrics, including Balanced Accuracy, ROC-AUC, and Macro-F1.
Identification of sequence features associated with ncORF translation.
Refinement of predictive models through the incorporation of additional variables.
Preparation of reports documenting the work performed and the results obtained.
Production of high-quality figures for publication.
- Formation:

Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence or Computer Science. A Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology will be considered an asset.
- Experience:
-
A minimum of six months of experience at the level of a Master's thesis project.
- Knowledge:
-
Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence models.
Ability to work with large-scale RNA sequencing datasets.
Understanding of the biological processes governing the translation of RNA into proteins.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
