Project title:

Complete characterization of human polymorphic inversions using long read sequence data (PID2022-137615OB-I00)

Comparative and functional genomics research group

Description:

The selected person will join the Comparative and functional genomics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).

Task:

1. Perform data analysis on inversions and other regions of the human genome. 2. Develop bioinformatics studies on the functional effects of human inversions. 3. Contribute to the maintenance and updating of software programs and databases for analyzing structural variants.

Formation:

PhD in Genetics or Bioinformatics.

Experience:

Previous research experience in bioinformatics and human genomics, including: - Programming and statistics (Bash, R). - Analysis of human genetics. - Use of genomic programs and DNA sequence analysis in research. - Experience with structural variants. - Work with long DNA sequences.

Knowledge:

Programming (Bash, R). Basic techniques of molecular biology. English.
