Research group / Service:
Computational epigenomics Research Group
Description:
The selected person will join the Computational epigenomics Research Group (Biomedical informatics research program).
Task:
We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary research group developing computational methods for single‑cell data analysis, with a focus on single‑cell epigenomics. The position is ideal for candidates with strong quantitative skills who are excited to advance methods for integrating and interpreting multi‑omic single‑cell datasets. Key research topics: -Development of statistical and machine‑learning methods for integration of multi‑omics single‑cell data (e.g., scRNA‑seq, scATAC‑seq, methylation). -Integration of genomic and epigenomic information at single‑cell resolution to characterize regulatory states and cell identity. -Analysis and interpretation of copy‑number alterations and chromosomal aberrations in single cells, including robust inference, visualization and downstream biological interpretation. Responsibilities -Design, implement and validate novel computational methods. -Apply methods to real single‑cell epigenomic datasets and work closely with experimental collaborators. -Write high‑quality, reproducible code and maintain documentation. -Prepare manuscripts, present results at conferences and contribute to grant proposals and collaborative projects. -Mentor students and participate in group activities in an international, interdisciplinary setting.
Formation:
PhD / doctorate in computational biology. Bachelor/master on mathematics, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, engeneering.
Experience:
Development of computational methods for the analysis of genomic data and single-cell data, with strong statistics background. Experience with single‑cell genomics/epigenomics data and common analysis tools and formats. Prior work on multi‑omic integration, chromosomal copy‑number analysis, single‑cell epigenomics (scATAC, single‑cell methylation), and deep learning for genomics. Experience with high‑performance computing and version control (git). Background in statistical modeling, machine learning or algorithm development. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge:
High proficency in English. High programming skills in Python, R, Bash, C++. Strong statistical and machine learning background.
