Project title:

Engineering an integrated platform for generation of human blood stem cells from pluripotent sources

Research group / Service:

Stem cells and cancer research group

Description:

The selected person will join the Stem cells and cancer research group (Cancer research program).

Task:

Implementation of the technical and intellectual aspects of the project with experimental design using techniques from embryology, molecular biology, cell cultures, and histology (Western blot, RNA and DNA extraction, cell cultures, immunofluorescences, research in molecular biology). He/She will also supervise doctoral students.

Formation:

PhD in the field of Health Sciences.

Experience:

Previous experience in the tasks described above is required. Experience in the culture and differentiation of iPS cells, use of animal models, and hematology is essential.

Knowledge:

Essential to have a strong knowledge of embryology and laboratory techniques: cell culture, Western Blot and immunocytochemistry, PCR, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and other techniques to study cellular effects (viability, proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, DNA damage). A high level of English and computer skills at the user level for Office and internet are required.

Additional information:

We are looking for a person with the ability to work in a team. It is essential to have published articles in indexed international journals and to have had an overseas stay. Autonomy in experimental design and results interpretation for carrying out a scientific project will be positively valued, as well as experience in presenting data and results publicly in English. Extensive experience and knowledge of vertebrate embryonic development with publications on the subject in recognized journals is essential. Experience in the culture and differentiation of embryonic and gastruloid cells is required.
