Description:

The selected person will join the Integrative biomedical informatics research group (Biomedical informatics research program).

Task:

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled bioinformatician to join our team and participate in the design and development of biomedical knowledge graphs aimed at advancing personalized medicine. The selected candidate will work on integrating heterogeneous biomedical data, developing methodologies based on graph embeddings, and applying these models to real-world use cases in translational research and drug development. Main Responsibilities Design, development, and implementation of biomedical knowledge graphs, integrating omics, phenotypic, chemical, and therapeutic data. Development and application of methodologies to generate embeddings from knowledge graphs. Application of embeddings and derived models to various use cases in the field of personalized medicine. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in bioinformatics, computational biology, and data engineering. Documentation of code, workflows, and results, following best practices for reproducible science.

Formation:

Degree in Bioinformatics or equivalent qualification in computer science, computational biology, data science, or related fields.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of work experience in bioinformatics. Previous experience in data integration, graph modeling, or machine learning projects will be considered an asset.

Knowledge:

Technical Skills in Programming: Python: pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, matplotlib. R: biostatistics, data wrangling, visualization, omics data analysis. Bash for pipeline management and automation. Technical Skills in Data Science and Bioinformatics: Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Biostatistics. Knowledge Graphs and graph embeddings. Experience with HPC/cluster computing. Technical Skills in Databases: Experience working with databases and biomedical resources (genomic, clinical, chemical, pharmacological, etc.). Technical Skills in Software and tools: Git/GitHub for version control. Containers: Docker and Singularity. Knowledge of reproducible development best practices.
