Project title:

Improving cognitive performance in Down syndrome patients (899986)

Description:

The selected person will join the Integrative pharmacology and systems neuroscience research group (Neurosciences research program).

Task:

- Preparation and processing of biological samples for LC-MS analysis. - Analysis of endogenous (e.g. endocannabinoids) and exogenous (e.g. drugs of abuse) biomarkers in biological materials using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS). - Genotyping of patients and volunteers (CYP2D6 and APOE markers). - Registration, traceability and data management according to standard procedures (SOPs). - Support in the elaboration of analytical reports and results.

Formation:

Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, Quality Control or equivalent degree.

Experience:

- Experience in preparation and processing of biological samples (plasma, serum, urine, etc.). - Previous experience in the analysis of biomarkers of xenobiotics in biological materials. - Experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques (LC-MS/LC-MS-MS).

Knowledge:

- Experiència en l'ús de tècniques cromatogràfiques, especialment cromatografia líquida acoblada a espectrometria de masses. - Familiaritat amb procediments de control de qualitat i validació de mètodes analítics. - Ús d'eines bàsiques de gestió i tractament de dades (fulls de càlcul, programari específic d'anàlisi LC-MS). - Coneixements en l'anàlisi de biomarcadors endògens (endocannabinoids) i exògens (xenobiòtics, drogues d'abús). - Coneixement de tècniques bàsiques de genotipat.

Additional information:

- Ability to work following standardized procedures (SOPs) and quality standards in accredited laboratory environments. - Experience working in regulated environments or linked to clinical studies. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment.This contract is part of a project that has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement Nº 899986.
