Description:

The selected person will join the GPCR Drug Discovery research group (Biomedical informatics research program).

Task:

Development of a Pipeline for Optimizing Ligand Affinity via Strategic Water Displacement Conduct molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of GPCR–ligand complexes.Build a Python-based framework to analyze MD trajectories and detect water molecules in binding pockets.Quantify the thermodynamic favorability (“happiness”) of individual water molecules using structural and energetic descriptors.Design and optimize ligands to selectively displace unfavorable water molecules, thereby enhancing binding affinity.

Formation:

Degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Experience:

1. Proven experience in data analysis 3. Strong interdisciplinary mindset and ability to apply computational tools to biomedical research 4. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of GPCR structure and biology - an important target for drug discovery programs 2. Proficiency in Python, R, and Bash programming languages 3. Academic training in structural biology, computer-assisted drug design, and molecular dynamics simulations 4. Knowledge of MD simulation software (GROMACS and NAMD) and structure visualization tools (VMD, Chimera)
