Engineering an integrated platform for generation of human blood stem cells from pluripotent sources

Description:

The selected person will join the Stem cells and cancer research group (Cancer research program).

Task:

Performing the technical and intellectual part of the project with the design of experiments using molecular biology techniques, cell cultures and embryology (Western-blot, RNA and DNA extraction, cell cultures, immunofluorescence, molecular biology). Generation of omic dates and their analysis. He/she will also supervise doctoral students

Formation:

Doctorat en l'àrea de les Ciències de la Salut.

Experience:

Previous experience in the tasks described above is required.

Knowledge:

Essential to have knowledge of embryology and experience in laboratory techniques: cell culture, Western Blot and immunocytochemistry, PCR, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques and other techniques to study cellular effects (viability, proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, DNA damage). Fluent English and computer skills at Office and internet user level are required.

Additional information:

We are looking for a person with the ability to work in a team. It is essential to have published articles in indexed international journals and to have done a stay abroad. Autonomy in experimental design and interpretation of results to carry out a scientific project and experience in presenting data and results in public in English will be positively valued. It is essential to have extensive experience and knowledge of vertebrate embryonic development with publications on the subject in recognized journals. Experience in culture and differentiation of embryonic cells and gastruloid differentiation
