Dr. Jennifer Linares, a researcher from the Colorectal Cancer Precision Medicine Research Group, received one of the Semilla AECC 2024 grants to study treatment resistance in colon cancer, focusing on understanding how the tumor environment affects the efficacy of therapies. She will receive 20,000 euros.

And Dr. Clara Montagut, coordinator of the Colorectal Cancer Precision Medicine Research Group, will receive a TRANSCAN 3-JTC 2023 grant, worth 31,250 euros, for the international project SAGITTARIUS, which aims to identify the genetic causes leading to metastasis in order to improve treatments for colon and rectal cancer.

Dr. Sònia Servitja also takes part in the MetEND project, led by Dr. Roger Gomis of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Barcelona (IRB). With funding of 1.2 million euros, the project aims to identify the signals that favor the growth of bone metastases in breast cancer in order to find ways to block this process.
