1st BiblioPRO Appraiser Training Workshop

The 1st BiblioPRO Appraiser Training Workshop was held on Friday, 21st November. BiblioPRO is an online library which provides exhaustive and high-quality scientific information on health-related quality of life instruments and other Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) for use in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries. The aim of the library is to facilitate the appropriate use of these instruments in research, clinical practice, and health care planning and management.

The workshop, which was financed by CIBERESP, organized by the IMIM Health Research Unit and held at the PRBB in Barcelona, was intended to train the approximately 20 participants from around Spain in the use of EMPRO (Evaluating Measures of Patient Reported Outcomes). This consensus-based system was designed by members of the BiblioPRO scientific team to provide a means of evaluating patient reported outcomes measures in a standardized fashion.

Appraisers who complete the training satisfactorily are approved by the BiblioPro scientific committee to participate in the continuous evaluation of PRO instruments which forms an integral part of BiblioPRO.
